Putting Honesty Back Into Betting and Handicapping

"Sharkys-sports.com is the only handicapping and betting tout guide I have, and will ever use."

First, let me introduce myself to the Sharky community.

My name is Steve N., award-winning writer and journalist, and avid fan of sharkys-sports.com.

Why am I a fan?

Because I have always been a proponent of sports betting and gambling as one's own personal choice, and I have always been a fan of honest entrepreneurs that can take a dollar and a dream and turn it into success out of love, honesty, and loyalty to their customers.

The latter two descriptions, honesty and loyalty, are often hard to find in the world of sports betting.

Being a journalist, I have conducted numerous interviews with touts claiming to hit at mathematically impossible numbers. And, unfortunately, I have spoken with even more people that have fell victim to these tout's false promises of dreams and riches; only to be left out in the cold after the tout hits a losing skid, which happens to all of them.

The games these touts play are numerous, clever, and designed to suck you in on the belief that these people can hit games at 80%, or higher.

But they can't, no one can.

Which is why from the moment I discovered sharkys-sports.com, I was taken back by the refreshing nature of his site.

Sure, Sharky has locks, but they're only locks because he has done extensive research, knows the teams playing, studied the line movements and characteristics, and 100% truly believes that he has an edge on the game.

And, he usually does.

Here's why I know:

I watched Sharky meticulously pick games over the last two years at forumserver.twoplustwo.com, skipping weeks when he didn't feel he had an edge, carefully targeting moving lines, and using the discipline of a soldier to only pick games when he had the edge.

And it paid off. His thread was the most popular thread in the history of the famous forum. People appreciated his honesty and transparency, and, most importantly, he was a winner.

But, perhaps the best part about Sharky and sharkys-sports.com is that he is completely transparent. When he wins, which is most of the time, he is ecstatic. When he loses, he tells you so, and he tells you why. And, most importantly, he tells you what he learned about the pick and the changes he can make to get better.

And it is that honesty, transparency, and loyalty that has made me a lifelong fan of sharkys-sports.com.

I will always use Sharky for advice. His track record is proven, his rationale for picking the games he does is smart and easy to understand, and his winning percentage is honest and sustainable.

I don't care that he doesn't promise me 90% winners, because I know no one can do that. Because of Sharky's openness and honesty, I can see through his record over the last few years that he is a sustainable 60-65% winner, sustainable being the key word.

With Sharky and sharkys-sports.com, I know that if I use good bankroll management and follow his betting patterns, I will WIN MONEY.

I was never promised this last statement by Sharky, as Sharky is too honest of a man, but because of his transparency I am able to determine on my own that Sharky is a winning handicapper. And, thanks to his picks program, I can win too.

I'm also glad to announce that as reward for being a guest blogger, I am allowed to offer everyone who reads this a special offer:

1-week of free picks at sharkys-sports.com, just use promo code: BLOGGER500

Please, take this awesome deal and join me in seeing why Sharky is putting the honesty back into winning handicapping.

Sports Bets: Treating Betting Like a Business

If you’re reading this, chances are that you’ve considered making a living out of sportsbetting.

You have probably already gotten your feet wet, placed bets, won bets and lost bets too. Most likely you have mostly won your bets or you would be foolish to consider doing this for rent, bread and butter.
But there’s a big step going from winning bets to making bets for a living. The chief difference lies in the approach to betting and the way we have to acknowledge risk.

As a sportsbetting business man/woman we have to mimic other more traditional businesses. We have to acknowledge the fact that some bets will win and some bets will lose. We have to acknowledge the fact that our edge is probably not more than 10-15% (at the most) in the long run. Using this information, we can detach

ourselves from the thrill of gambling and turn sportsbetting into a numbers game.

Secondly, we have to realize that this is work.Get up in the morning and go to work is what it is all about. The best cappers in the business know this and have a work ethic to keep them consistently ahead of the pack. How you choose to do your betting analysis is up to you since there are many ways to develop an edge. You can use mathematical approaches to find trends, you can collect information from all sources possible or you can do a combination of any amount of methods. Of course you can also use trusted cappers. We must advice caution in relying only on cappers since there are many shady operations out there and if you want to reach the amount of bets per week that is necessary to maintain a decent living, you are likely to need more than one capper.

Finally be patient. Unless you have a big bankroll already, you will need to start small and grow your bankroll systematically. If you’re smart about it, it will happen. If you try to chase losses or otherwise go off the reservation, the only professional gamblers that will make a living off your money are the bookmakers.

Next week we will delve deeper into the issue of sportsbetting money management. So stay tuned and please share this on facebook and twitter. We appreciate your support, that’s why we give back so much free content and so many free picks.

Sharky's Sports is a good place to start. You’ll get honest picks found through hard work and lots of free knowledge to get you on the right path.

Sports Bets: About a Bettor.

Who is Sharky?
I have been competitive my whole life, playing sports and board games, my competitive nature eventually led me into taking a shot at the gambling world. I started playing pool when I was 16, and by the time I was 19, I was one of the best players in Alabama.

A handsome Paul Newman making money

I had a knack for handicapping pool games and usually came out on top, whether I was playing the game myself or staking another player. I once went on a streak of booking 97 winners in a row.
The pool environment eventually led to other gambling endeavors. The pool room manager was a bookie and I started to bet football games. At the age of 19, I went on a hot streak winning 12 weeks in a row which gave me enough money to buy my first car, a Chevrolet Camaro.

My dream was to become a professional pool player. That dream came to an end one night when I was having a few drinks with some friends. We began arm-wrestling, and I injured my shooting arm and had to learn how to play pool with the opposite arm.

A few of my pool buddies ran poker games, and I noticed the same people winning and the same people losing so I knew there was more to poker than just the luck of the draw .   I started reading all the poker books and anything I could find online. After about 6 months, I hung the pool stick up and fully concentrated on poker.

I have been playing poker professionally for the past 7 years, with the steady income and free time that poker provided me, I began handicapping football games on the side.

I had always enjoyed betting on sports, and the experience I gained from handicapping pool matches really helped me in handicapping sports matches.  I started betting football games in my teens with good success.  In 2007, I started taking handicapping more seriously and began betting on a larger scale with great results.

A couple of years later I found more research outlets on well known Internet forums. As part of this research, I decided I would start my own sports betting thread on one of the most popular forums. My thread would eventually become the biggest draw on the Two Plus Two forums with well over 100,000 views and many followers. Thanks to my advice, my followers have been able to make a lot of money over the last two years.

But how can one expect to make money just by studying games when Vegas has million dollar equipment designed to spot trends and analysts working around the clock? The answer to that is simple. Vegas aims to spread the bets with 50% on one side and 50% on the other. That way Vegas makes money every time people bet on overrated fan favorites or on the wrong trends. It doesn't necessarily mean that the given line on a game is fair, just that bets will be spread in a way that is guaranteed to make Vegas money. It is a business afterall, not a gambling operation. My biggest edge comes from a developed ability to identify when and where this is happening and that is what makes me a very successful sports bettor.

I have been a professional gambler for the last 10 years – playing pool, betting sports, and playing poker.  My success from the forums has carried me into this new endeavor.    My goal is to keep winning and make my followers money. I bet all of my picks myself so Im riding the train along with everyone else.
